The Basilisco winery is located in Barile, in the Lucanian province of Potenza. Founded in the early 1990s, it was acquired in 2011 by the Capaldo family, who already owned the Campania-based Feudi di San Gregorio and who at that time were already cultivating ten hectares of vines in the most suitable plots. Since then Basilisco has been entrusted to the care and management of Viviana Malafarina, who runs the company and personally (and with great passion) takes care of cellar operations. With her is Pierpaolo Sirch who is also responsible for vineyard management. Today the property, as well as being able to count on splendid tufa cellars, extends over 25 hectares of vineyards in the most suitable districts of the area, within the territory of the enchanting Vulture Natural Park.
