Sparkling wines - Lombardy

Lombardy, as far as the production of bubbly is concerned, can boast a wide range of high quality products and is recognised as the reference point for the production of spumante and sparkling wines throughout Italy. The areas where sparkling wine production is mainly concentrated are Franciacorta and Oltrepò Pavese. At regional level, some interesting products are obtained from the use of indigenous grape varieties, such as Franconia, Groppello and Erbanno.
