Nebbiolo, Pignola, Brugola and Rossola are just some of the black grape varieties typical of the Lombardy region. Wine production in this region is particularly interesting and varied, thanks above all to the extensive territory and the very varied climate and soil characteristics.
Cultivation of vines leads to an equal division between white and red wines, the latter being produced from dark grape varieties such as Barbera, Croatina, Bonarda, Uva Rara and Pinot Noir.
