  • Sensations Brilliant pale straw yellow. The floral aroma anticipates citrus nuances. The taste is fresh, intense and persistent.
  • Vinification The grapes undergo soft pressing. After decanting, the first-pressing must is inoculated with selected yeasts, and fermentation continues at a controlled temperature of 16°. At the end of fermentation, without malolactic fermentation, the wine matures on the fine lees for about 2 months at a constant temperature.

    "Alfieribianco" Calabria IGT 2022
  • The grapes used to produce this Alfieribianco come from the company's vineyards in Arghillà, on the outskirts of Reggio Calabria. Vineyards are half-hillside, with good exposure and an average height of about 150 metres above sea level. Yields are kept deliberately very low, below 90 quintals per hectare, to ensure maximum concentration of aromas in the grapes. The varieties used are Malvasia Bianca and Inzolia, a subtly aromatic grape, typical of Sicily just a few kilometres across the strait as the crow flies. Super-delicate vinification respecting the finest aromas begins with a brief skin maceration carried out for a few hours at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks. This results in a richer and more aromatically intense wine. Pale straw yellow, the fresh herbaceous and fruity notes are evident on the nose. In the mouth, however, it is structured, harmonious, fresh and moderately acidic.

    Reggio Calabria, a wonderful land of a thousand contradictions. It is here that the Zagarella Farm founds its roots. A historic family that has dedicated itself to the cultivation of its land since 1800, aiming for high quality production while respecting nature. Today, the farm covers about 70 hectares, 36 of which are cultivated with olive groves, 24 with chestnut woods and 10 with vineyards. Gentle hills exposed to the sun and overlooking the sea of the Strait of Messina. In the winery, they use the most advanced natural technologies, including the innovative Ganimede® system that allows the grapes to be treated without the aid of mechanical processes, maintaining their integrity and lowering vinification temperatures. These attentions result in wines that are easily recognisable for their marked extraction of varietal aromas and for their greater persistence in the glass.
