  • Sensations Dark ruby red colour with purple hues. The nose opens with intense fruity aromas of cassis and cranberry, which intertwine with pleasant notes of green pepper, tobacco, black pepper and wet earth. The palate is moderately structured, rich and complex, with a long, lingering finish.
  • Vinification The grapes are harvested by hand and selected on a table before and after destemming. Traditional vinification in temperature-controlled cement and stainless steel tanks with pumping over and racking. Maturation time of 25 days. Malolactic fermentation in tank. Aged for 12 months in barrels, 90% of which are new.

  • We are located in the prestigious Bordeaux region. This is the birthplace of Château Sociando-Mallet, a blend of 54% Merlot, 44% Cabernet Sauvignon and the remaining 2% Cabernet Franc. Vines with an average age of 35 years. This balanced combination captures the very essence of the terroir. The terroir of Haut-Médoc, characterised by gravel and clay on a clay-limestone subsoil, gives the vines an ideal habitat to thrive. In the countryside, viticulture is organic and each stage of the process is carefully followed down to the smallest detail. It begins with a manual harvest of the grapes, followed by careful selection on the table to guarantee only the best quality. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled cement and stainless steel tanks, with pumping over and racking to extract the best aromas and flavours. Ageing takes about 12 months in barrels, 90% of which are new, giving the wine structure, complexity and character. To the eye, it has an intense dark ruby red colour, enhanced by purple reflections. The nose has fruity aromas, dominated by cassis and cranberry, enriched by subtle notes of green pepper, tobacco, black pepper and wet earth. In the mouth, it is moderately structured, yet rich and complex, with a long, lingering finish that invites further exploration.

    In the heart of Haut-Médoc, where the Garonne River is the star of the landscape, lies Château Sociando-Mallet, a wine estate with a centuries-old history. We are located in the commune of Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne, north of Pauillac. Its vineyards extend over gravelly soils, the 'graves', deposited here during the Günz Ice Age. Since its foundation in the 17th century as the property of the aristocrat Sieur Sociando, the estate has experienced fascinating vicissitudes. In the 19th century, the Mallet family acquired ownership, forever linking its name to the destiny of the Château. A new chapter opened in 1969, when Jean Gautreau, enraptured by the charm of Sociando-Mallet, decided to take it over. Under his leadership, the estate experienced a profound rebirth: the buildings were restored, the cellar enlarged and the vineyards extended and renovated. Today, it is Jean Gautreau's daughter Sylvie who carries on her father's legacy with dedication and talent.
