  • Château Carbonnieux Pessac-Léognan Cru Classé de Graves, with its high standard of quality has always been considered an excellent red from the territory. Vinification is carried out by slow and gentle extraction of the grapes' finest color and aromas in order to preserve the wine's roundness and best represent the unique characteristics of the soil. A ruby red of beautiful depth, this excellent Bordeaux red has fine aromas reminiscent of red and dark fruit notes. In the mouth, however, what is most striking are the ripe and silky tannins, as well as the toasty notes due to aging in top-quality French oak barrels. Perfect with grilled meats, it also goes well with medium-aged cheeses. For those with a sweet tooth, there are also those who suggest trying it as an end to a meal, with chocolate desserts. Pure pleasure!

    Château Carbonnieux is located in a small French town, Léognan, a few kilometers from Bordeaux and therefore falls within the Pessac-Léognan wine region. The roots of the noble house date back to the Middle Ages, although over the centuries the estate has undergone several changes of ownership: Finally, since 1956, it has been owned by the Perrin family. The estate today has a total of 170 hectares, 92 of which are planted with vines. Of these, as many as 50 are dedicated to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the region's typical red varieties. The remaining portion, however, is devoted to Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. Pessac-Léognan, in fact, is one of the few areas in Bordeaux where red and white wines enjoy the same reputation. The vineyards are cultivated according to the regulations of sustainable agriculture. No insecticides and herbicides are used, but methods are followed that respect biodiversity and stimulate plants to develop their natural defenses on their own.
